TERM & CONDITIONS
1. Registration & Eligibility

• Age Eligibility: Registration is open to participants aged 7 to 65 years as of the event day. Individuals below the age of 7 or above 65 are not eligible to register or participate.
• Minor Consent (Ages 7–17): Participants aged 7 to 17 must obtain written consent from a parent or legal guardian during registration.
• Accuracy of Information: Participants are required to provide accurate personal information, including their full name (as stated on their IC/Passport), IC/Passport number, mobile number, and emergency contact details. Incorrect or incomplete information may invalidate the participant's Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance coverage.
• Non-Transferable & Non-Refundable Registration: Registration fees are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including non-attendance or event cancellation due to severe weather or force majeure. Race bib transfers or registration amendments are not permitted after the official registration closing date unless expressly approved in writing by the Organiser.
• Daily Registration Quota: Registrations are accepted based on daily allocation quotas. Once the daily quota has been reached, any remaining registrations will automatically roll over to the next available registration window.

2. Race Entry Pack Collection (REPC)

• Collection Schedule: All race entry packs must be collected during the official REPC dates and times announced by the Organiser prior to the event.
• Collection Requirements: Participants must present their EasyStore Order Confirmation or E-Ticket together with a copy of their MyKad or Passport during collection.
• Proxy Collection: Participants authorizing another person to collect their race pack must ensure the representative presents a copy of the participant's IC/Passport and the EasyStore Order Confirmation or E-Ticket.
• Uncollected Race Packs: Any race pack not collected within the designated REPC period will be deemed forfeited. The Organiser reserves the right to dispose of or reallocate any unclaimed race packs without further notice.

3. Medical Fitness & Personal Safety

• Fitness Declaration: By registering, participants declare that they are physically fit and medically capable of completing the 5KM Fun Run.
• Assumption of Risk: Participation is entirely at the participant's own risk. The Organiser, event sponsors, venue management (Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam), and appointed contractors shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage to personal property arising from or in connection with participation in the event.
• Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance: Basic Group Personal Accident Insurance is provided for registered participants based on the valid IC/Passport information submitted during registration. All insurance claims are subject to the terms and conditions of the appointed insurance provider.
• Medical Authority: Event medical personnel and safety officers reserve the right to stop or withdraw any participant from the event if they are deemed medically unfit or at risk of injury. 

4. Event Day & On-Course Conduct

• Race Bib Display: Official race bibs must be securely worn on the front of the participant's shirt and remain clearly visible throughout the event. Participants without an official race bib will not be permitted to enter the course or receive finisher entitlements.
• Route Compliance: Participants must remain on the designated 5KM route and comply with all instructions issued by event marshals, RELA officers, medical personnel, and security officers.
• Strict Safety Restrictions:
  • No Strollers or Baby Carriers: Strollers, prams, baby carriers, and similar equipment are strictly prohibited on the race route for safety and congestion management.
  • Prohibited Equipment: Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, pets, and all motorized vehicles are strictly prohibited on the course.

5. Event Alteration, Postponement & Cancellation

• Force Majeure: The Organiser reserves the right to amend the race route, delay the flag-off, suspend, postpone, or cancel the event in the interest of public safety due to extreme weather conditions (including heavy rain, lightning, or severe haze), natural disasters, pandemics, or directives issued by relevant government authorities.
• No Refund Policy: Should the event be postponed or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the Organiser's reasonable control, registration fees will not be refunded. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any travel, accommodation, or other incidental expenses incurred by participants.

6. Media Consent & Personal Data Protection (PDPA)

• Media Consent: By participating in the event, participants grant the Organiser the irrevocable right to photograph, film, record, and use their name, image, likeness, voice, and appearance for promotional, advertising, marketing, publicity, and media purposes in any format without compensation.
• Personal Data Protection: Personal data collected during registration will be processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. The information provided will be used solely for event administration, insurance verification, emergency response, and official event communications.

7. General Provisions & Organiser's Rights

• The Organiser reserves the right to amend, revise, update, or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior individual notice.
• Any amendments or updates will be published on the official registration platform and/or the Organiser's official social media channels.
• By registering for the Sunscreen Festival Fun Run 2026, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

GENERAL FAQ

Q: When and where is the event?
A: The event will be held on 13 September 2026 at the National Botanic Gardens, Shah Alam. Flag off is at 7:15 AM.

Q: Who can participate?
A: The event is open from ages 7 to 65 years and with fitness levels. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult.

Q: How do I register?
A: Registration is available online through our official website. You may buy your ticket first to get the order number before filling in your details, select your shirt size, and category.

Q: What is the registration deadline?
A: Registration deadline is on 18 August 2026.

Q: How much is the registration fee?
A: Please refer to the Ticket Fee page for detailed pricing. Early bird discounts may apply.

Q: What do I get with my registration?
A: All participants receive a running jersey, BIB number, finisher medal, and exclusive goodies upon completing the run.

Q: What is the run distance?
A: The run is a 5KM fun run. Note that there is a steep area between KM 1 to KM 3. Please prepare accordingly.

Q: Can I walk instead of run?
A: Yes! Walking is perfectly fine. This is a fun run, not a competitive race. Go at your own pace and enjoy the experience.

Q: Is there a time limit?
A: Yes, the cut-off time is 9:30 AM. Participants who have not completed the route by then will be directed to the finish line.

Q: Where do I collect my running kit?
A: Running kit collection is on 12 September 2026 at the event venue from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please bring your registration confirmation.

Q: What should I bring on event day?
A: Bring your BIB number (pinned to your jersey), comfortable running shoes, and a water bottle. Leave valuables at home.

Q: Is parking available?
A: Yes, parking is available at the venue. The charge is RM 5 for cars and RM 1 for motorcycles. Cash only. 

Q: Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
A: No, registrations are non-transferable. The BIB and running kit are issued to the registered individual only.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The event will proceed rain or shine. In the case of severe weather (lightning, storms), the organiser reserves the right to delay or cancel for safety reasons.

Q: Will there be water stations along the route?
A: Yes, a water station is available at the 2.5 KM area along the route.

Q: Is there a bag deposit area?
A: No bag deposit area provided.

Q: Can I get a refund if I cannot attend?
A: No, registration fees are non-refundable. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions for full details.
